A Rehab For Women
During college day, I happen to write a written report about addiction in women. We are asked to interview patients who have suffered from the disorder yet treated at the rehabilitation center. The interviewee consists of analyzing the causes, effects and treatment of the disorder. She was 16 at that time, attending her third year in high school when she exposed to the pressure in her studies and stressful family problems. She began to narrate how she had first tried using stimulants such as cocaine and marijuana in order to forget all her problems in life. At first she was just consuming a little amount until she found out that she was addicted with the illegal drug and needed to be treated in a rehab for women. It was her family who noticed the sudden changes in her behavior such as being depressed, having hallucinations, not being able to sleep on the right time and losing appetite to eat. At first she was hesitant to cooperate and even try to leave their house just to not to go to the rehab center. But after some time, she gave in. In the rehabilitation center treatment for men are different from women’s drug treatment. It is more on emotional, mental treatment and spiritual therapy for women compare to men’s treatment which is more on medical and mental therapy. At first she suffers from withdrawal syndrome which is commonly happening to a person prohibiting the use of drugs. It is a painful experience for her. But after a couple of time, she manages to regain her own self. After she was released from the center the therapist advised to her family to show their love for their daughter so that she will fully stop taking drugs. And now, she is living a good and live with her own family thanks to the rehabilitation center.
